Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education (KARE), formerly known as Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering, was established in 1984 by the Kalasalingam Anandam Ammal Charities. Situated in Krishnankoil near Srivilliputhur, Tamil Nadu, the institution attained deemed-to-be university status in 2006.
KARE's campus spans 400 acres and offers a comprehensive range of facilities:
Library: Housing over 99,000 books across various disciplines, the library also provides access to more than 4,600 e-journals from publishers like IEEE and Science Direct, and over 74,000 e-books from Springer and ProQuest.

National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024: The university was ranked 36th among engineering colleges, 50th overall, and 30th among universities in India.
Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025: KARE was placed in the 801–1000 bracket globally.
Accreditations: The institution has been re-accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an 'A' grade and a CGPA of 3.11.
Additionally, KARE is recognized for its inclusive education initiatives, being the first institution in India to introduce a special B.Tech program for students with speech and hearing impairments.
