Lady Shri Ram College for Women (LSR) was established in 1956 by industrialist Sir Shri Ram in memory of his wife, Phoolan Devi (Lady Shri Ram). The college started with just 243 students, nine faculty members, and a few courses in humanities. Over the decades, LSR has grown into one of India's most prestigious institutions for higher education, particularly for women.
