Stella Maris College for Women was established in 1947, the same year India gained independence. Located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the college was founded by the Society of the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary (FMM), a Roman Catholic religious congregation. The institution began with just 32 students and has grown into one of the most prestigious women’s colleges in the country.
